"For in Him we live and move and have our being" (Acts 17:28) Sing Servant
"Now a young Hebrew was there with us, a servant of the captain of the guard. We told him our dreams, and he interpreted them for us." Genesis 41:12
In the house along the Nile it is going well. Maybe he will be able to buy his freedom, go home soon. "No, he must stay in Egypt. A prison, that will keep him." "But he is innocent!" "Patience."
Forgetful cupbearer. For two years he does no good word for the young man. He cannot even remember his name. And that somebody who can interpret dreams!
"Patience. Soon he will criss-cross the land in his chariot, buying grain. And the 'sheaves' will come from Israel and bow before him and live."
The Pharaoh's daughter went down to the Nile to bathe, and her attendants were walking along the riverbank. She saw a basket among the reeds and sent her slave girl to get it.
"Don't cry, little baby, drifting in your basket. One day you will walk dryfoot through a sea. Let me take you from the reeds. I am afraid of the hippopotamus and the deep water. But I dare not say 'No' to her. I also won't. Mother's heart
Come little one. She will tell people that she drew you from the water, but we know better."
The ripples of the Nile mirror her. An image of God, who draws people out of mud and deep water, and still does today.
