"For in Him we live and move and have our being" (Acts 17:28)

ProLife

Tragically, abortion isn't confined to the so-called Western World. They happen around the clock, around the globe. Come with us as we trace the trail of this life-robbing practise in different countries.

Pregnant woman ABORTION DEATH: FOUR HELD
FOUR people have been picked in Chililabombwe to help police with investigations in the death of a house wife who died after an abortion. Copperbelt police Chief Lyson Simwanda confirmed the arrest of the quartet who include the woman's husband. Mr. Simwanda said the other three are medical personnel who allegedly assisted the woman carry out the illegal abortion. He said the four were picked up on Friday. According to sources the man escorted his wife to consult a nurse to assist her with a prescription of a drug to induce an abortion. The nurse allegedly prescribed and the couple obtained from a pharmacy. The couple went to Mufulira where an operation was carried out. The woman bled profusely and she was rushed to Ronald Ross hospital where she died. The matter has since been taken to court and the four will appear for mention today.

In 1998 Silent Voices San Diego, with offices in the USA, Russia and Romania decided to extend help to Africa. With God being most gracious We were most fortunate to find a young lady in Africa with a loving heart for this ministry. Let her tell her story as written by her in the Silent Voices Newsletter HEART BEATS distributed in Africa.

Amazing Grace:
I am very grateful for what God has done in my life. He started preparing me for the ministry some 5 - 6 years ago. I went through abortions which I did not share with anyone. However, when God's time came, I was asked to come to San Diego for training with Silent Voices in March 1998. I went through the (Post Abortion Syndrome Healing and Recovery) workshops with nine other women. During that time God started doing tremendous work. At the end of it all everyone received healing in their hearts. God has removed the shame from me.

Recently, I discovered that I am an abortion survivor. 'Mum' conceived me when my elder sister was 10 months old. As per tradition demands, the alternative was to terminate the pregnancy in order for the breastfeeding baby to survive. Dad protected me and no wonder I loved Dad so much.

My one and only, elder sister Rachel, at the age of 26 years, not married, she conceived. Because of the fear, she had to face reality, she attempted to terminate the pregnancy which took her life right on the spot in April 1994. She died, away from the family in the Bush of Mkushi at the distant relative's place. We only saw where she was buried for the message reached us late.

I am now married to a pastor. We have been disappointed by nature together on three occasions. experiencing stillbirths. God has healed us and blessed us with a healthy baby boy who is now two and half hears old. By the grace of God, with my husband Edward, through the healing we have received, we have learned how to show compassion and mercy to others. We know where we are coming from and how we needed compassion and mercy.

Today we are reaching many men and women who continue to struggle with negative feelings about the past abortions, those who are in the crisis pregnancy, also taking abstinence education program to schools, college, churches, etc. to emphasize the importance of remaining sexually pure for marriage. If there was someone to give my alternatives, my sister, she could be alive today or if someone was there for me, I could have not gone through the broad way of abortions. With my husband Edward, we are there for someone no matter what it costs.
